Some could actually not travel abroad maybe domestic travel / camp counselor/ Family’s Summer home and maybe one doesn’t travel at all because they are working their way through college but that doesn’t mean romance can’t occur! As I recall there weee all types of economic backgrounds when I was in college at both a private and then state university ( I switched for economic reasons and had to work summers for my spending money during college. Plus experience since I taught children’s theater at 20 and was going into elementary education.) Anyway just a thought. Someone could be in summer school too. My son took classes in the summer and graduated with a double major in December of his Senior Year and Married the following spring to his college sweetheart. So… lots of options for your series.

You could also have them be like roommates or housemates. They don't have to be besties to have their lives intersect.

You could do a whole series on hiking one trail, like what the trail watches people go through. So everyone hikes the same hike but they all are going through their own trials or something like that?

Some could be spring break romances, summer traveling romances, some could be study abroad romances, and they wouldn't all have to be at the same time if you DID want them to be friends. Two people could fall in love per year (if you don't count freshman year, because no one should fall in love freshman year)

I would love to see if you have more details on how you went from your first outline to the one you love. I've been stuck in that same funk with Book Two for a while now and it's frustrating me. I did pick up that 7 Figure Fiction book you and Bethany keep talking about, and I'm going to dive back into my structuring books for reference. But seeing HOW you transformed yours would be super helpful!

Love your videos! I know you said you had wanted to make this series about traveling and trying to figure out how to connect each book in the series. What if you have a central person to this family like say a grandparent or this eccentric relative that nobody really knows about, and that person traveled a lot when they were younger. And all the younger relatives that are old enough to travel goes a different part of the world that this relative has been when they were younger. Each of them can learn something about that relative and meet the love of their lives. There could also be some sort of mystery about this relative where everyone unlocks a different piece of the mystery. And then the last book brings it all together.

Did I miss something, because it doesn't seem to even show the print book as coming soon on the page, only the Kindle option. As far as I can tell, the print book page doesn't go live until the print book release date. Am I wrong on this? From the site: "Your title's release has been scheduled. Your title’s Amazon detail page will remain hidden until 12:00 AM GMT on the book's scheduled release date."

I used Canva Pro to make a cover for my lead magnet. It's a little more convenient for layering the little vector elements that would make the cover more unique for a fantasy or sci-fi book because it's right there in the same software. I'll admit trying to get the typography right is much harder, but it is doable. It took me awhile to figure out how to make a version of the shinny metal look, but I figured it out with about four or five text layers. It's not as good as the photoshop version, though.

I use Canva all the time. I am not the most tech savy, which is why I don't use Photoshop (plus it's more expensive). I tried the AI images just to see how it would come out, but I ended up with some really wonky stuff.

Would have been nice if you had shown how to highlight the chapters, so a reader can go to a specific place in the book. Overall a nice vid though.

This makes me confident i can get away with publishing 5 books of the same title, but split into 5 parts, with the 5 copies of your books.

I got the draft done. All i got to do is finish the book. Got 105 minutes worth of the book, only 39 pages into it. Got less than 120 pages left to copy from notebook #1, then i got 5 notebooks to go. I got my book title: The Dark Descent: What Vengeance Comes I got the subtitle: Dark psychological horror Release date might be either October 2024 or November 2024. Between the 15th of October and the 11th of November. Horror novels are published in November, right? I might do a free ISBN, which means the price is currently free for the ebook. Categories are all set, key words too, and the age range is 16-18+.

Hi, how can I make a front and back cover that are continuous front and back with an image in Canva?

I love using canva, and have used it for most of my book, the only difficult is when you want your text to look metal or pop out, then you have to place around with the effects. It fun to create the cover for the book that you want. Thanks for showing this.

I have a question I'm hoping you or someone here can answer... how do we go about ordering more than 5 proof copies? If a publicist for example requests 20 copies (as pre-publication ARCs), would we need to print 5 then repeat the process, or can you only print 5 more after a change to the file has happened? Thanks!

Doesn't the book cover file Layers have to be flattened through "Flatten Image" before making the cover into a PDF? Or save the book cover into a PDF book cover file while it is in the Photoshop layers format? Thanks.

I admit I have the pro version of canva rather than the free version, but I enjoy it for making covers and it can do a lot. Sometimes you've got to be inventive to get exactly what you want, however, the results once you find the solution can be great. I suppose it depends on your genre and what your looking for in a cover, but its been great for me.

I made a cover for my short story Fae Blood in Canva and I think it was really easy and I could easily make cool and simple cover. THe biggest problems for me were actually deciding what colors and fonts I would use

Excellent video and tips! I shared this on my Facebook page and will make a video trailer for my books. One thing I would also add is to join groups online with/where your target audience is. For example, I participate in Dr. Bruce Lipton's online zoom call once a month! FYI Reader "magnet" is misspelled on your popup within this video.

In regard to putting the guides in, why would we not just do the most interior one, as the front and back art work are going past the bleed edge anyway? I know about having guide to make sure no text or bar code gets out of the safe zone. Am new to all this, so sorry if I am missing something on this.
